We believe one of the best types of toys is also one of the simplest. Toy blocks are a great foundation for future play. Blocks increase hand eye coordination, promote cooperative play and let little imaginations run wild. For small children you can get foam blocks that are soft yet solid, cardboard brick blocks that allow kids to build bigger structures and of course unit blocks for both homes and schools.

As the founder and CEO of Little people's Cove I also truly belive in teaching a child life skills through play. My son has learning disabilities and I am always thinking of creative ways to teach him life skills through the power of toys and pretend play. We have a wooden play kitchen that I have been using to teach my children the skills of measuring foods with measuring devices. We work on reading through recipes. Also they have been learning proper nuttition in the form of creating healthy meals with pretend food. What better way to learn than through the eyes of a child.

As a co-author of Toy Box Leadership, I want to thank you for the endorsement.

I also totally agree with your comments about the power of children learning from toys.

I really think toys are a great way to educate children and teach them vital skills for later in life!

I wish I could still live a care-free life and play with toys :)
